Every Friday from April through October, Switchyard Park fills up with food trucks, folding chairs, and people who showed up with no plan beyond dinner. No tickets, no admission, nothing to sign up for in advance. It is a small, recurring thing, and small recurring things tell you more about what living somewhere feels like day to day than any single highlight ever could.

What Is Food Truck Friday, and When Does It Run?

Food Truck Friday runs weekly at Switchyard Park, 1601 S. Rogers Street, from May through September the hours run 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and in the shoulder months of April and October it wraps up at 8 p.m. There is no admission charge. The only cost is whatever you choose to order once you are there. The event is organized in partnership with The Chocolate Moose, a longtime local business.
